The greatest improvement made in boating in the last hundred years is the development of fiberglass and various other composite materials used to build a modern recreational boat. It does not rot like wood, it does not warp or split and, if properly maintained, will last its owner for a very, very long time! |

Bass Boats have gone through a tremendous evolution to get to the point where they are today. The first "bass boat" was considered to be a hulled out canoe made from chippings off of very large trees. The Caddo Indians of east Texas and western Louisiana are credited with this type of boat "invention." |

It's hard being a boat engine! Unlike its automotive cousins, a boat engine is run at extremely high RPM's and under quite a load when in operation and it sits in storage a whole lot of the time. It's kind of the worst of both worlds. Today's marine engines are very well made and unlike their predecessors, really experience very few mechanical problems if they are properly maintained. |
