Multiple Spun Hubs
I have spun the hub on my port prop 3 times in the last 6 weeks. I do not believe I have hit anything at any time. 2 different "prop shops" have done the repairs. The props were completely reconditioned with the first hub replacement.
28' Pursuit
Twin 200 HPDI Yamaha's counter rotating
3 Blade SS 17 inch pitch 15 inch diameter
5500 WOT
Does anyone have any input why I continue to have problems with this prop/hub? One theory that has been floated by me is that excess cavitation is heating the prop causing the rubber hub to give. Since I can not find anything online about anyone else having that problem, it seems questionable to me. Any ideas, theories, or suggestions?

twin F225 overheat alarms
Having problems with temp alarms going off used temp gun to check temp engines are not running hot. water pressure coming out of pee hole seems to be down . could this be the presure control valve i have read about . have replaced water pumps and thermostats. seems to set alarms off more at idle than at top speed. Any suggestions will be appreciated

Impeller problems???
I have a 1994 4.3L mercruiser that I'm trying to get running for the summer.
I just replaced the water pump on the engine and I replaced the thermostat the other day. I start the engine and the thing runs smooth and like a champ. But I noticed that when I crank it and run it at idle that I really don't have any water coming out the ejection port on the stern drive. If I bump the throttle up to 1500 rpms then I get a steady flow.Â
Is this a sign that the impeller in the lower unit is going bad or is it something else?
Thanks for your help.

How To Prop Your boat
HAVE INFO AT EBID.NET UNDER THEPROPGUY
THIS PROPELLER PAYS FOR ITSELF ON THE MONEY YOU SAVE FROM NOT RUNNING A 3 BLADE PROP. YOU SAVE $1.50 PER HOUR BACK IN YOUR POCKET CANNOT LOSE.

Ford 302 runs good till full throttle
I have a 1976 20 ft thompson with a ford 302 v8. I just got this boat and don't know much about it. I took it out today and it started fairly easy and idled perfect. The guy I got it from just had the carb rebuilt last year. Anyway I start moving and it takes off nice then i gave it more gas and still good, then i go to full throttle and the motor keeps running but loses alot of power. I go from 40 mph to 30 mph real quick. I'm not sure what could be the problem. It seems like the engine is getting too much gas at full throttle. If I give just a little bit of gas at a time all the way to full throttle it will run good but still lacks power after 3/4 throttle. Please Help if you can. Thank You

Trim Tabs for a Sportfisher?
Need a few opinions whether or not to use trim tabs on a 70' sportfisher.
The hull is aluminum if that has any importance. Twin Diesel engines.
I can think of a couple negative points to the tabs.
Is the performance benefit that great?
Thanks for your input. Â

New to boating and I changed my Lower unit oil BUT I unscrewed the Shift Cradle Screw by accident.
Can someone explain to me what that Shift Cradle screw does?
Â
Im new to boating and I thought I was unscrewing my lower screw and it turned out to be my Shift Cradle Screw.
Â
Heres what I then did.
Â
I had all 3 screws out. The Lube level plug, Drain/fill plug and the Shift Cradle Screw. I started to pump in the new oil from the drain/fill hole and I started to get the oil to come out of the Shift Cradle screw which I did expect. I then screwed in the shift cradle screw and pumped in oil until it came out of the lube level screw hole. I then screwed in the drain fill screw then screwed in the lube level screw.
I looked at the manual and it said ***Important DO NOT remove shift cradle screw.
Did I screw something up? Can someone explain that shift cradle screw?
Thanks

starter/ignition trouble!!!!!
i have a 77 omc 235, 302 engine. new to the whole boating expeirence so bear with me. took the boat out last weekend and it ran great. took it out today and it would not start. seemed dead but the batteries were fine. wouldnt hardly turn over. the starter selinoid was starting to smoke at the cable from the starter and on my battery + lead. thought maybe starter was drawin too much current, so took it out and tested it and checked 5.0. changed the selinoid and still did the same. when starter was removed none of the terminals heated up. ignition fuse as kept poppin and so many cranks. after puttin it all back together, now the starter doesnt turn over and the fuse still pops. what wires go to the selinoid??? any pictures and advice would be extremely helpful.... really need help!!!! thanxs

Quit Stalling
It seems that ever since they started adding ethanol to our gas my 1998 5.7 L - EFI Mercruiser's (Bravo 3 Outdrives) stall when put in to gear. This includes when I'm shifting in and out of gear to dock the boat. It always happens with the starboard engine and about 70% of the time with the port.To avoid stalling I need to give the throtttle a lot more than I'd like to which is not attractive - particularly in close quarters.... The boat, otherwise, runs flawlessly. My mehanic says the CPU's check out fine and there are no filtration problems with water. He also tells me that his Merc sales rep says I need to change out my CPU's, at $900, apiece.Apparently the replacements will do a better job of distributing the blended fuel. I called Merc direct and they said that they've never heard of the problem nor the solution. Does anybody out there hear me?

Yamaha Outboard Overheating
My 1996 Yamaha 90 hp outboard apparently overheats when I'm carrying a heavy load (e.g. six people as approved for the boat) or if I run it wide open for more than a few minutes. (Upon sensing an overheating, the engine automatically shuts down to an idle speed.)I've had the waterpump and themostat replaced. My mechanic tested it running and took read outs using a "hot gun sensoring device" and could not identify any hot spots.... but the problem continues. Any ideas out there?
Â
Thanks in advance.

Trouble starting a hot engine
I have a 2001 Bryant 23 foot runabout with a 7.4 liter Fuel INjected Mercruiser Bravo 3. At times the engine will not start when the engine is hot. After waiting 20 minutes or so it sstarts and runs fine. At othet times, the boat will start and then shut down immediately when putting into gear. Again, waiting about 20 minutes or so seems to clear up the problem.

Any suggestions?
